How to run your queue with BuildMint Queue

Last updated: August 30, 2026

This guide starts with the work staff do most often: add a customer, call the next person, and keep the queue moving. Your organization may use customized words such as patient, guest, or barber; this guide uses the product's generic terms.

Daily operations

Run the daily queue

Dashboard opens the current business-day session for the selected queue. Each queue keeps its own number sequence, entries, settings, and assigned service provider.

1. Select the location and queue

Choose a location, then choose the queue you are operating. Selecting All Queues gives a read-only overview; select one queue to add customers or use queue controls.

2. Update service-provider availability

If your role allows it, set the assigned service provider to Not Started, Available, Delayed, On Break, or Finished. Delayed requires an expected arrival time and On Break requires an expected return time. The status and optional note appear on customer tracking and ticket screens.

3. Add a customer

Enter the customer's first name, last name, and mobile number, then select Add customer. The visible word may differ if your organization customized its labels. A successful entry uses one monthly visit; a failed or abandoned form does not.

4. Call and finish service

Select Call next to make the next waiting entry current. Select Complete current when service is finished, or Skip current when the person cannot be served yet. There is no separate start-service or close-day action in the current workflow.

5. Resolve skipped or cancelled entries

A skipped entry can be moved next, moved to the end, or cancelled. Cancellation uses a confirmation where appropriate. Completed, skipped, and cancelled entries remain in history; they are not silently deleted.

Customer handoff

Give customers their tracking ticket

After a customer is added, the ticket view provides their queue number, QR code, short code, and unguessable public tracking link. Let the customer scan the QR code or open the link before they leave the waiting area.

The tracking page requires no customer account. It shows that ticket's status, position, number ahead, the number now serving, and relevant service-provider availability. It does not show other customer names, mobile numbers, internal identifiers, or staff controls.

Optional ticket screen

Authorized staff can enable the customer ticket screen in Queue Settings and open it on a second display. It shows the latest registered ticket together with safe queue information. Each new registration replaces the previous ticket on that display.

Keep tracking details private

Give the tracking link, QR code, or short code only to the customer it belongs to. Avoid entering diagnoses, clinical notes, payment details, or other unnecessary sensitive information into queue fields.

Before or between operating days

Configure queues and service providers

Open Settings, then Queues & Service Providers. A queue belongs to exactly one location and one service provider. Service providers can be eligible for multiple locations, but each can have only one current-day active queue assignment across the organization.

Open Queue Settings to choose the return threshold from 1 to 10 and enable or disable the optional ticket screen. The return threshold tells a customer to return when that many people are ahead.

Organization administration

Manage locations and users

Authorized users manage locations under Branches. A location has its own contact details, country, timezone, active state, and primary designation. A non-primary location can be made primary or archived; historical records remain preserved.

Under Users, authorized users can invite or edit organization users, manage pending invitations, and assign built-in or custom roles. Permissions determine which pages and actions appear. Owner safeguards prevent removal of the final active accepted Owner and prevent users from changing their own role.

Free supports 1 location and 1 organization user. Queue Plus supports up to 3 locations and 5 users. After paid access actually expires, excess records are preserved: locations become plan read-only and users become plan restricted until valid access is restored.

Read-only history

Review queue activity

Users with reporting permission can open Reporting and filter by Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month, Last Month, or a custom date range. Where available, filters also cover location, queue, service provider, status, queue number, name, and mobile number.

Summary cards show total entries, completed, waiting, skipped, cancelled, and average wait time. Open a row for recorded details. Archived queue and service-provider names remain identifiable in historical reports.

Free reporting covers the latest 30 days per location. Queue Plus adds retained history, consolidated reporting, advanced analytics, and a CSV download of the current filtered results.

Plan management

Understand plans and monthly usage

Open Plan Features to see the effective plan, current monthly usage, plan limits, and available billing actions. Visits are pooled across locations and reset at the start of each calendar month in the organization's timezone.

Free includes 300 total visits/month shared across all locations. Queue Plus includes 5,000 and costs $9.99/month or $99.99/year. Checkout completion alone does not grant paid access; verified Lemon Squeezy subscription state is authoritative.

A scheduled cancellation stays Queue Plus through the verified paid-through date. If a subscription actually expires or becomes unpaid, Free limits apply without deleting existing queue data. Use Manage subscription, Manage billing, or Update payment method when those actions are available.

Initial setup and later changes

Set up organization details and labels

On first sign-in, create the organization with its name, address, phone number, country, timezone, and a suitable terminology template. An optional PNG, JPEG, or WebP logo can be uploaded up to 2 MiB.

Authorized users can later update these details under Organization Profile. Under Templates & Labels, choose a preset or customize the words used for organization, location, customer, service provider, service point, queue, and ticket. Check important operational screens after changing labels so staff share the same vocabulary.
